Clicker Dog Training Classes

Canine Psychology and Behaviorism: DoggyComm 101

In this 3, 6 or 9-week course, we’ll work together with passion and purpose to create a unique language that allows you and your pet to truly connect and communicate, bringing you and your family the much-needed peace and joy you all have been longing for. We will begin problem solving, language building and learning basic good manners through fun games taught with a clicker, praise, yummy treats and enticing toys that build focus, engagement, calmness and impulse control.

We will set you and your dog up for Behavioral Modification Success by learning your dog's fear response stimuli and developing coping mechanisms and strategies for managing difficulties. Alongside individually tailored Counterconditioning and Exposure Therapy Training Sessions, we aim to fully transmute fear into full joyous expression, because we all deserve it!!  I will also be speaking to each member of the family one at a time to check in and see how everybody is thinking and feeling throughout this journey of transformation. helping to identify and rewrite the “Bully Voice” that attacks and sabotages so many of us daily, so we may rise to any challenge and emerge successful! Huzzah!

We will start with Extreme Management and gradually allow more and more Freedom as we see our dogs improve. We will create new Rules, Boundaries, Limitations and Luxuries for the household, creating clarity and cohesion. No more confusion or helplessness! Won’t it be grand to finally have your pet problems solved?! Alas! No more pulling, door dashing, jumping on people or stealing food! No more chaos! Just ease and grace. What a relief!

Meet and Greet Evaluation

$250 | (Approximately 1 - 1.5 hours)

Before we begin training, I will come to your home for observation and conversation. Please show me everything; all of the problem behaviors your dog is exhibiting and what you wish they would do instead. I want to know how their behavior is impacting your lives and what may happen if things don’t change. We will spend some time addressing the Meet and Greet Questionnaire that will help me understand your unique family’s situation, wants and needs. We will explore training goals and construct a Game Plan that the whole family agrees on. Great for filling out the Intake Form in person versus over email, and for getting a sense of who I am and how I train before making the commitment to invest in your pet’s education. I would love to meet the whole family, as this is a team effort. While this meeting is not a prerequisite to other programs, it is highly recommended as it allows us to hit the ground running come that First Day of School! This ensures that we get the most out of our training time together.  We Got This!

This program includes:

  • 1 In-Person Intake Form Consultation

  • 1 Private One-on-One Evaluation

The Rose Program

$900 | (Approximately 3 weeks / 10 hours)

The Rose Program is the perfect starter program for puppies and dogs who need to learn some English and dog parents who need to learn some Doganese. For dogs that are:

  • Rushing the front door when guests arrive

  • Barking, Jumping and Nipping on guests

  • Running out the door and possibly into traffic

  • Pulling on the leash, making walks difficult and dangerous

  • And for dogs that have so much energy they are causing chaos and making life difficult for the family to handle.

The goal at the end of this Basic Obedience / Family Manners program is to have a calmer dog who listens to you and has proper door manners, guest manners, leash manners, and improved impulse control.

 We will learn:

  •  Calm Door Manners with the “Wait” and “Off / Sit” game.

    • Finally, calm greetings at the door, where the dogs are sitting quietly waiting for guests to enter. No more door dashing! No more jumping on guests as they try to enter. Friends and family can come over again without fear of being knocked over or nibbled on by the dogs. Huzzah!  Your dogs no longer feel the need to jump on people, now that they understand that the best things happen to them when they keep all four paws on the floor. Yes!

  • Building Impulse Control by allowing access into an area with the “Enter” game.

    • Your dog will learn to wait to enter an area until you let them “Enter.”

  • Leash Manners with the “This Way” game.

    • At last, calm walks where the leash is loose and your dog is paying attention to you, listening to your instructions and being a good happy doggie! No more being dragged down the street, feeling embarrassed and overwhelmed by your overstimulated dog’s behavior. Incredible!

  • Impulse Control with the “Leave It” and “Take It” game.

    • During feeding times, your dog actually sits and waits to eat. They make eye contact with you and wait until they hear you say “Take It” before eating. And when they tried to eat something on a walk, you asked them to “leave it” and they did! Amazing!

  • Release Game with “Go Find,” or “Go Play.”

    • These games are crucial for letting your dog know when the previous cue is over. Very helpful in helping them learn what the cue is we are asking them to do, and when that game is over.

  • Family Focus Game.

    • A customized training game based on your unique situation.

This program includes:

  • 1 Email Consultation

  • 3 Private One-on-One Training Sessions for the whole family to participate in.

  • Instructional videos and PDF aide. I will email you videos of the fun training games we will be learning, along with typed instructions, to help you when training on your own.

  • 1 Zoom call check-in two weeks after graduation to see how the family is doing and troubleshoot any remaining hiccups that want to be addressed.
